Innovation at NMIET, powered by IIC
The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) at NMIET promotes innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship among students through workshops, competitions, hackathons and other innovation-driven initiatives. As part of these efforts, IIC NMIET is facilitating the institute's internal selection for Smart India Hackathon 2026, giving student teams an opportunity to turn ideas into impactful solutions.
Form your team
Build a team of 6 NMIET students with one designated team leader. Faculty mentor is optional.
Choose a problem statement
Explore 400+ official SIH problem statements across 18 themes and select the one your team wants to solve.
Internal evaluation
Present your idea to the NMIET evaluation panel. Top teams will be nominated for SIH 2026.
Official SIH journey
Shortlisted teams will be registered on the official SIH Portal and continue through the national selection process.

Four rules decide if your team is valid
Teams that miss any of these are disqualified at verification. Check them before you register.
Exactly 6 members
Every team must consist of exactly 6 student members — no more, no fewer.
1 female member mandatory
At least ONE female member is mandatory in every team. Plan for it while forming your team.
Same college only
All 6 team members must belong to the same college — NMIET students only for this internal entry.
1 faculty mentor
Each team may have one faculty mentor (optional)
One leader, five members, one complete team
Every SIH team consists of exactly six NMIET student members, including one designated team leader. Faculty mentor details are optional during the internal registration process and can be added later if required.
